Sandra Kasturi


Sandra Kasturi is an award-winning poet, writer and editor. Born in Estonia to an Estonian mother and Sri Lankan father, she now lives in Canada. Sandra’s work has appeared in various venues, including Taddle Creek, Canadian Notes & Queries, ON SPEC, Prairie Fire, several Tesseracts anthologies, Evolve, Chilling Tales, A Verdant Green, TransVersions, ARC Magazine, Abyss & Apex, 80! Memories & Reflections on Ursula K. Le Guin, and Gods, Memes and Monsters. Her two poetry collections are: The Animal Bridegroom (with an introduction by Neil Gaiman) and Come Late to the Love of Birds. Sandra has won ARC Magazine's Poem of the Year Award, the Sunburst Award, the Whittaker Prize, and been shortlisted for the Troubadour International Poetry Prize. She is currently working on two books: a new poetry collection called Snake Handling for Beginners, and her first novel, Wrongness. Previously, Sandra has been a blackjack dealer, a fake TV psychic and a professional calligrapher. One of those is true.
